FERIT provides a broad range of environmental services for multiple sectors, including forest management and planning, resource development, infrastructure development, wildlife management, and conservation of species at risk.
Wildlife and Habitat Modelling: advanced modelling to predict changes in habitat quality and wildlife distribution and abundance in response to environmental change, including alternative forest management and development scenarios.
Scenario Analysis Population Modelling: advanced modelling that integrates modelling land-use change arising from development and climate change with wildlife habitat and population dynamics responses.
Surveys: Survey designs for modern sample technologies, including GPS location collars and automated cameras and acoustic recorders, that leverages modern spatial survey design programs. Examples include advanced modelling techniques to develop spatially balanced, random stratified designs.
IT Solutions: Develop software and computer applications that can simplify and reduce errors in environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Research and Development: Develop research projects to assist in developing and implementing environmental technology solutions, such as evaluating effectiveness of new and efficient data collection technologies relative to traditonal methods.
